Traction does not guarantee control
A machine may move forward yet still lack predictable lateral resistance or braking. On a slope, that difference matters. Operators avoid treating published slope ratings as permission to work on every wet grade.
Rutting and erosion risk

When postponing is the right choice
Delay is appropriate when soil is saturated, flowing water is present, access routes cannot support the equipment, or a loss of traction could send the machine toward people, traffic, structures or water.
